
It’s that time of year when you look at last years cut-offs and find them too short to wear in public. Here’s a tip to keep your jorts from disappearing in the wash.
Step 1: cut pants to desired length
Step 2: Sew along the the bottom edge of the shorts. “ The stitching creates a barrier. Your shorts shouldn’t fray past this line.
Step 3: pull on the thicker white threads along the bottom of the shorts to make a frayed edge. You can also toss them in the washing machine to create the same effect with less work.
Step 4: trim the fringe. This should be the first and last time you give your cut-offs a “hair cut”
