I recently did an art piece for a “futuristic” fashion show at Plutopia.
Children have access to a lot of dark things these days. We try to diversify their toys and shatter the Barbie doll image. At the end of the day, if you ask my friend’s three year old, she wants ballerina princesses in pink and glitter. A goth doll would not get an invite to a tea party unless she had a proper outfit and this is it.
The outfit is made primarily of recycled materials (the dress was always this pink but it was a real bore). The “glitter” was made from CD shards. The vinyl top was a pair of ruched leggings.
