Sorry I have been out of touch for a bit. The bike and SXSW prep have been a higher priority. If I could make my own shoes I would be set. In the last 2 months I have ordered and returned 6 pairs of shoes. My saddest return was this pair. They ran small.
I know, that is up there with the “dog ate my homework” excuse. Maybe it’s because the computer isn’t in the sewing room that much.
Jen’s Jeans is back on for July 11th at FirstSamples. It’s hard to think of making jeans in 100 degree weather. Maybe some shorts or pedal pushers.
Since I last checked in, I made myself a laptop case.
So, I am back to teaching classes at FirstSamples. I taught a pants class in March. I am in the middle of “Jen’s Jeans” right now. It’s a little crazy trying to teach class right after finishing up at the day job but I am making due (car payments are my current motivation).
Since I last checked in I finished 2 pairs of jeans. I have made a few more dresses (2 more black dresses and a white sundress). I have done a ton of alterations for co-workers and friends. Nothing super creative in the works right now. I am thinking about designing a few stuffed monsters for my friend’s son.
I really need to put pictures of the new stuff up on flicker.
Stay tuned

Contemporary use of the word conjures up a mental image of an independent a childless, stylish frumpy, middle-aged woman who is a jet-setting, trendsetter somewhat depressed, and is an inspiration to other women longing to be like other "normal" women.
