Once upon a time…

No, seriously… this is how it all began.

Do you remember that high school English or French teachers that I had in school who always had the trendy clothes and were really cool? You don’t remember her being “the marrying kind”, do you?

Spinsta was born after a conversation with a friend about not giving up our fun clothes after we turn 30. Unfortunately I was not impressed by the current fashions available in the store. I wanted something that was durable. Something I could wear to the office and be taken seriously. Something that was unique. Something that was me.

First came Sassy Britches. I love the long lines of 1940s Hollywood era pants. I do not love the super high waistbands. After several drafts, I came up with wideleg trousers mixed with a low-rise waistband. The fabrics were polyester suitings (aka. gaberdine)and the patterns varied from stripes to plaids to polka dots.

I am currently redesigning stereotypical clothing into something you didn’t see coming.  I upcycle. I refashion. I run a Clothing Hospital. But don’t worry, my closet is not suffering.
